Emergency Meeting of Curia Cardinals

Pope Francis "to broom" Cardinals?

It seems that at least one thing that was discussed at the meeting is now hitting the news agencies: His Holiness has ordered a full commission of inquiry into the workings of the "Vatican Bank", with a remit to investigate all areas of operation. The commission is to present its recommendations in the form of a report, and has been authorised to consider the closure of the bank if it is beyond reformation.

Interesting. Even if this is all that was discussed, the Institute for the Works of Religion will have tentacles in practically every other Vatican department. If there is corruption elsewhere, there's a good chance that it will be uncovered as part of this investigation.

I've had the unpleasant experience of being a small cog in a large organisation that suddenly found itself being investigated for accounting irregularities, so I feel sorry for the rank-and-file employees of the bank, for whom this is going to be very difficult. But on the other hand, I suspect that there will be one or two very senior officials - perhaps even cardinals - who are now extremely nervous.

Michael Voris seems unable to contain his excitement!

The video has been removed from the youtube channel and from their website. The only source for this seems to be Michael Voris. Can anyone substantiate any of this?

I'm inclined to think Voris got this wrong. I'm not sure the Pope is "organized enough" (his own words!) to call emergency meeting of all the curial officials without at least a two week lead-time. Seriously, though, nothing Rome happens that fast.
