Of hermits and those who live in clefts of the rocks

I found this on The Crescat, the best part is an interview with a hermit.

"First of all is purity of the body", he says.

Wise words indeed. The monks' peace and calm is so lacking in our modern world.

One said 'Prayer polishes a man's soul' - what a beautiful thought.

Hey Father,

I've been posting about grunge-caving here in Lourdes and getting desires to be a hermit at the same time, desires that I've had for decades. I'd like to aim at being a hermit, but Saint Jerome style (which is really not being a hermit at all, just being concerned with Sacred Scripture and Prayer and writing nasty letters to Saint Augustine).

The hermit in the video you've put up really knows what he's talking about. God bless him and all those who pray for the salvation of us who lag so far behind in humility and childlike trust in God.

Their prayers give us hope that we too can be hidden with Christ in God whereever we are.

Prayers and blessings from my cave in Lourdes.

Wonderful. Thank you, Father.

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God have mercy on us and save us. Amen
