Heralds of the Gospel

NLM have a number of pictures of the Heralds of the Gospels, the video is of the consecration of their mother Church.
They are one of the "new communities", I have the English group, Fr Jules and Brother Anton coming to Brighton in the summer.
Their charism seems to be to attract people to Christ through spectacle, and then to get them to take the Gospel into their hearts.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed that. A pity you couldn't get that lot around the next time Brighton celebrates Gay Pride week!

Lovely: but what a curious choice of text for the B. Sacrament processional music—'Kings shall be thy nursing fathers and queens thy nursing mothers'. Fabulous music, though.

The music was fine but the ceremonial struck me as way over the top - the term High Anglican camp comes to mind. Perhaps it is the Italian way, but what were all those men (corps of commissionaires?) doing dressed up as toy soldiers in those ridiculous early twentieth century uniforms? I wouldn't want to see any of that sort of thing here though as ttony said, it would go down well during Gay Pride week.

I hope they will be advised to tone down their style to the British taste before they come.

The spectacle the church should be promoting is the liturgy, done as well as possible. And I was always taught not to clap in a church.

I know the Heralds here in Rome and they seem to be good people.
They are getting a bunch of support from the clergy here in Rome. Like big big names.
But I didn't understand your commentaries. Gay Pride?
That is as immoral as it can get. And you think their uniforms and habits are somehow like those immoral parades? I am confused.

Now these guys are going places. When in Rome you here things. So I wouldn't be passing judgement so losely, as you might find yourself out of step with one of the Pope's right arms.
